Opening Day for Spring 2020

When & where is my child playing?
Schedules will be posted on the website and your team page..
Remember to bring shin guards, soccer socks,  proper footwear, & plenty to drink.
(Suggested for sideline: Jacket/blanket, sunscreen, chair, umbrella)

Bad Weather?
Games can be played in the rain. But we'll cancel if there is lightening or the fields are unsafe.

How do I know if fields are closed?
Know before you go...  Sign up at www.rainedout.com for updates on Field Status. Any closings or cancellations will also be posted on Social media pages on Facebook and Twitter, and the social media stream shown on our website, www.aysospartanburg.org

REFEREE?
The beginning of the season is always a challenge to fully staff all games with Referees.  We are a volunteer organization.  Many of you have already volunteered to take a flag and help "call lines". In doing so you filled a role called "Club linesman".  We really need parents to give serious consideration to becoming a referee; your children will thank you.

Safety
Please bring plenty of water for your child.
Most Concussions occur without loss of consciousness.  Know the Symptoms.
Go SLOW.  Watch out for Children chasing after balls in the Parking lots.  Look before backing out of your parking space.
Never let your child climb on the net or goal framework.  26 deaths and hundreds of injuries have occurred since 1979 from soccer goal accidents.

Sportsmanship
AYSO has always encouraged good sportsmanship in its programs
. In fact, "Good Sportsmanship" is one of the Six Philosophies listed in the AYSO National Bylaws. Fans are asked to be cheerleaders, not critics. Kids Zone® is a unique program that includes a parent pledge that moms and dads sign to commit to positive, encouraging behavior when they're watching the games

Negative, even violent, behavior of players, coaches and parents involved in youth sports has become almost epidemic in the U.S. Kids Zone® is a proactive effort to counteract this trend.

It is NEVER acceptable to abuse or criticize volunteers, verbally or otherwise, in any situation.
